Yunnan Sourcing is the largest English-language pu-erh catalog in the world. Scott Wilson, an American who relocated to Yunnan in the early 2000s, founded the company in 2004 to bridge the gap between Yunnan pu-erh producers and English-speaking Western customers. The catalog now spans thousands of items — house pressings under the Yunnan Sourcing label, third-party pressings from established producers, aged inventory spanning decades, single-village micro-lots, and adjacent dark teas.
For most Western pu-erh drinkers in the 2010s and 2020s, Yunnan Sourcing has been the primary entry point into the category. The price-to-quality ratio across the catalog is unusually accessible for direct-from-source pu-erh. The annual house pressings under the YS label have become collected items in their own right, with secondary-market pricing developing for sought-after years. The Beijing warehouse (separate from the Yunnan source operation) handles US shipping; international shipping ships from Yunnan or Beijing depending on the order.
