White2Tea
Beijing-based pu-erh specialist founded by Paul Murray (TwoDog) in 2011. One of the most influential Western-facing pu-erh brands; the monthly tea club shaped how many Americans learned pu-erh.
White2Tea is among the most influential Western-facing pu-erh operations of the last 15 years. Paul Murray (known online as TwoDog) founded the company in 2011 after years in China learning pu-erh from established producers. The Beijing operation produces its own pressings each spring under the White2Tea label, sources aged inventory from elsewhere, and ships globally.
The monthly tea club — a fixed-price subscription where each month's box contains a curated set of teas with detailed tasting notes — became one of the most common entry paths into serious pu-erh for English-speaking drinkers in the 2010s. The blog and Twitter presence (@white2tea) was for years one of the more candid voices in the Western pu-erh community, willing to call out fraudulent pu-erh, dubious aging claims, and bad sourcing practices. The brand's editorial influence on what Americans understood pu-erh to be is substantial.
