About Freshie Tea

A specialty tea reference catalog built by someone who actually drinks this stuff. Editorial, opinionated, not affiliate-spam.

What this site is

Freshie Tea is a structured reference for specialty tea — 26 brands, 24 origin regions, 24 cultivars, 12 processing methods, 10 brewing techniques, 14 city scenes, and 6 long-form guides. Every entry is interconnected: a brand page links to its origins; a process page lists the brands that specialize in it.

The goal: make the structured knowledge that specialty tea people carry around in their heads available as a navigable encyclopedia. If you know what you're doing, this is a faster way to look things up. If you're learning, this is a way to see how the whole thing connects.

Editorial position

The inclusion bar is "do specialty tea people respect this." Mass-market grocery-store tea bag brands are not in the directory. Sellers without sourcing transparency, harvest dates, or cultivar specificity are generally not included.

East Asian traditions (Chinese, Japanese, Taiwanese, Korean) are treated as primary, not exotic. Western tea drinking has its place but isn't the center of gravity. The site doesn't pretend that English Breakfast is more important than gyokuro.

Who runs it

Freshie Tea is a project of Veryation — a Bay Area-based product portfolio. The site is researched, structured, and written by one person; the editorial point of view is consistent across the encyclopedia.

How it's funded

Where present, affiliate links are clearly marked with rel="sponsored" and explicit disclosure on the page. Most brand pages do NOT have an affiliate relationship — the listing is editorial, not paid. See the affiliate disclosure for full details.

There are no display ads. There is no newsletter. There is no email harvesting.
