Affiliate disclosure
Some links on this site earn the site a commission when you make a purchase. Here's exactly how that works and why it doesn't affect editorial coverage.
FTC-required disclosure: Freshie Tea participates in affiliate marketing programs. Some outbound links to tea vendors are affiliate links. When you click an affiliate link and make a purchase, this site receives a small commission at no additional cost to you.
What we participate in
Freshie Tea participates in or applies to the following programs:
- Amazon Associates — for tea products available on Amazon
- CJ Affiliate (Commission Junction) — for vendors using CJ as their affiliate network
- ShareASale — for vendors using ShareASale
- Awin — for vendors using Awin
- Impact — for vendors using Impact
- Direct partner programs — with select premium tea brands that operate their own affiliate programs
Not every brand we cover has an affiliate program, and not every brand with an affiliate program is in our database. Inclusion in our editorial coverage is independent of whether we earn a commission.
How affiliate links are routed
Affiliate outbound links on this site route through go.veryation.com/tea/<brand-slug>, a Cloudflare Worker that handles the redirect to the actual partner URL. This lets us:
- Track which links get clicked (without tracking who clicked them)
- Update affiliate destinations centrally when a brand switches networks
- Maintain consistent link structure across the site
The routing redirect is transparent and fast — clicking an affiliate link will take you to the destination brand's site within a fraction of a second.
How this affects what we write
It doesn't. Editorial coverage decisions — which brands we include, what we say about them, how we rank them — are made independently of affiliate participation. Specifically:
- Brands do not pay to be included on this site.
- Brands cannot pay for higher placement, better reviews, or favorable framing.
- We cover brands without affiliate programs (Postcard Teas, Floating Mountain, several others) when they're editorially relevant.
- We exclude brands with active affiliate programs when their quality or editorial fit doesn't warrant inclusion.
What this means for you
If you find this site useful and want to support it without spending extra money, clicking through to a vendor via our affiliate link before you make a purchase you were going to make anyway is the most direct way to do that. The commission is paid by the vendor out of their marketing budget — your cost is identical to clicking through any other path.
If you prefer not to use affiliate links, every brand profile on this site includes the brand name clearly and you can search for them directly via a search engine. Your editorial experience is identical either way.
Other revenue sources
Beyond affiliate commissions, Freshie Tea accepts direct support via Ko-fi. This site does not run display advertising, sponsored content, or paid placements.
