Privacy
This site collects minimal data, doesn't require accounts, and uses standard analytics. Here's exactly what gets collected and what doesn't.
The short version
Freshie Tea uses Google Analytics 4 to count visitors and understand which pages get traffic. We don't collect names, email addresses, or personal information. There are no user accounts. The site doesn't sell or share data with third parties beyond the standard analytics and hosting providers listed below.
What gets collected
Google Analytics 4 (GA4)
Like most websites, Freshie Tea uses Google Analytics 4 to understand which pages get visitors, how long people stay, what country traffic comes from, and which links get clicked. GA4 collects:
- Anonymized IP address (truncated by Google before storage)
- Browser and operating system
- Pages visited and time on each
- Referring URL (where you came from)
- Country and region (derived from IP)
- Tea freshness checker submissions (anonymized — tea type, age in months, storage condition, resulting state — never linked to a user identity because there is no user identity)
GA4 sets cookies (typically _ga and _ga_*) to recognize repeat visitors within a session. You can disable analytics via browser settings, ad blockers, or Google's opt-out browser extension.
Cloudflare
The site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages and routed through Cloudflare's CDN. Cloudflare logs standard web access information (IP address, user agent, requested URL) for security, performance, and DDoS protection purposes. Cloudflare's privacy policy applies to that logging: cloudflare.com/privacypolicy.
Ko-fi (donation page)
If you choose to support the site via Ko-fi, you're leaving this site and entering Ko-fi's platform. Their privacy policy applies to whatever data you provide them: ko-fi.com/Manage/privacy. We never see your payment information.
Affiliate link clicks
Clicking an affiliate link routes through go.veryation.com (the affiliate-routing Worker described in the affiliate disclosure) before redirecting to the vendor. We see anonymous click counts per affiliate link. We do not see who clicked which link. Once you arrive at the vendor's site, their privacy policy applies.
What does NOT get collected
- No user accounts, so no names, email addresses, passwords, or profile data.
- No subscription email list. We don't maintain a newsletter.
- No contact forms — no form submissions stored.
- No location services. The site doesn't request your precise location.
- No third-party social media trackers. The site has no Facebook, Twitter, or other social media pixels installed.
- No advertising — the site doesn't run display ads, so no ad-network tracking.
Cookies
The site sets the following cookies:
- Google Analytics (
_ga,_ga_*): visitor recognition for analytics. ~2 year expiry. - Session storage (not technically a cookie — local to your browser tab): the brand directory remembers your filter selections within a single browsing session. This data never leaves your browser.
You can clear cookies anytime via your browser settings. Doing so will reset the GA4 visitor recognition and your filter selections.
Data retention
GA4 data is retained per Google's configured retention policy (typically 14 months for event data; can be adjusted in GA4 settings). Cloudflare access logs are retained per Cloudflare's policy (typically days, not months). We do not maintain our own user database.
Your rights
Because we don't collect personally identifiable information (no accounts, no email lists, no forms), there is no personal data tied to you in our possession. If you live in a jurisdiction with right-to-access or right-to-delete provisions (GDPR, CCPA, similar), and you believe data about you is being collected by third-party services on this site (Google, Cloudflare), contact those services directly. We can't delete data we don't have.
Updates
This policy may change as the site evolves. Material changes will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
